Flight Tracking while Googling

Get Flight Information every time you Google anything?

Now travelers and Googlers are now able to check the status of a flight by using the Google search engine.

Early last year, Google rolled out a search feature which updates information from FlightStats to allow users to check whether a flight is on time or delayed. Users are also able to check the departure and arrival times by just typing in the airline name and flight number into the Google Search bar.

This convenient flight tracking tool by Google allows travelers to have knowledge about their trips at their fingertips. Travelers can plan and control their journeys better and minimize the damage to their business or holidays due to delays. Airlines also will have less angry and frustrated passengers in their hands while information can be disseminated efficiently via the Net. But beware of hackers who may play havoc to the system and create more problems to undermine travel plans and flight safety. (source mydigitallife.info )

It's the end of the year so enjoy yourself

Here's some funny videos to lighten up an otherwise dreary day...

With the inauguration expected to be one of the biggest events in Washington DC history it's a safe bet the cab companies, limo companies and sedan companies that serve Montgomery County, Loudoun County, Howard County and Frederick County are all going to be booked.

Some people think that having a job that's busy is a good thing (especially if you want to keep that job.. job security has a lot to do with is your industry in demand.

Others just want to "get by" and don't appreciate when their job gets frantic with demand. The inauguration is most certainly going to step up the demand on the transportation industry of Frederick County and Montgomery County Maryland.

If you're one of those with out ambition (aka slacker) and all that demand is just going to ruin your day, here's a funny story that will make your dreary day seem like a walk in the park:

If you don't laugh out loud after you read this you are in
a coma. This is even funnier when you realize it's real.
Next time you have a bad day at work think of this guy.

Rob is a commercial saturation diver for Global Divers in
Louisiana. He performs underwater repairs on offshore
drilling rigs.

Below is an E-mail he sent to his sister. She then sent it
to radio station 103.2 on FM dial in Ft. Wayne, Indiana,
which was sponsoring a worst job experience contest.
Needless to say, she won.

Hi Sue,

Just another note from your bottom-dwelling brother.

Last week I had a bad day at the office. I know you've been
feeling down lately at work, so I thought I would share my
dilemma with you to make you realize it's not so bad after
all.

Before I can tell you what happened to me, I first must
bore you with a few technicalities of my job.

As you know, my office lies at the bottom of the sea. I
wear a suit to the office. It's a wet suit. This time of
year the water is quite cool. So what we do to keep warm is
this: We have a diesel powered industrial water heater.
This $20,000 piece of equipment sucks the water out of the
sea. It heats it to a delightful temperature.

It then pumps it down to the diver through a garden hose,
which is taped to the air hose. Now this sounds like a darn
good plan, and I've used it several times with no
complaints.

What I do, when I get to the bottom and start working, is
take the hose and stuff it down the back of my wet suit.
This floods my whole suit with warm water. It's like
working in a Jacuzzi.

Everything was going well until all of a sudden, my butt
started to itch. So, of course, I scratched it. This only
made things worse. Within a few seconds my butt started to
burn. I pulled the hose out from my back, but the damage
was done. In agony I realized what had happened.

The hot water machine had sucked up a jellyfish and pumped
it into my suit. Now, since I don't have any hair on my
back, the jellyfish couldn't stick to it However, the crack
of my butt was not as fortunate.

When I scratched what I thought was an itch, I was actually
grinding the jellyfish into the crack of my butt.

I informed the dive supervisor of my dilemma over the
communicator. His instructions were unclear due to the fact
that he, along with five other divers, were all laughing
hysterically.

Needless to say I aborted the dive. I was instructed to
make three agonizing in-water decompression stops totaling
thirty-five minutes before I could reach the surface to
begin my chamber dry decompression. When I arrived at the
surface, I was wearing nothing but my brass helmet.

As I climbed out of the water, the medic, with tears of
laughter running down his face, handed me a tube of cream
and told me to rub it on my butt as soon as I got in the
chamber.

The cream put the fire out, but I couldn't poop for two
days because my butt was swollen shut.

So, next time you're having a bad day at work, think about
how much worse it would be if you had a jellyfish shoved up
your butt. face='Comic Sans MS, Comic Sans, Sans-serif'
size=3

Now repeat to yourself, 'I
love my job, I love my job, I love my job
.'

Now whenever you have a bad day, ask yourself, is this a
jellyfish bad day? May you NEVER have a jellyfish bad day!

Obama Inauguration means scarcity of hotel rooms

Thinking of flying into BWI for the Inauguration?

Better make sure there is a hotel room free...

WTOP radio today reported that almost all available rooms in Washington DC area hotels are booked solid. People are actually renting out the spare bedrooms in there homes!!

The historic election is predicted to draw the largest crowds ever to the DC area.

If you're planning on attending this dramatic event, it really looks like you're going to have to secure a hotel room far away from the Nations Capitol...

Which means you'll probably be taking a taxi from the suburbs of Washington to downtown. However it IS possible to take the subway, DC's subway system is called Metro. Washington's Metro is among the finest mass transit systems in the country.

If you don't know much about the Washington area and are only flying into BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport for the momentous occasion, the first Black President in the history of our country, you may be in for a surprise...

Not all DC suburbs are created equal!

The nicest neighborhoods are to the North and West of DC.
Montgomery County and Northern Virginia are two of the ritziest areas in the US to stay at, they're also one of the safest to stay at. Both areas had property values actually INCREASE rather than drop.

So if you're wanting to come into BWI and stay in a safe suburb, I recommend staying in either Montgomery County or Frederick County, taking a cab to the Gaithersburg Metro Station for your visit.

Sober ride - FREE cab ride home

The Washington DC area is blessed to have Sober Ride, a program provided by W.R.A.P.

If you're enjoying yourself a little too much at a bar or party and get too drunk to drive home you can call a cab company and Sober Ride will pay the cab fare home.

Currently, SoberRide operates during the December/January holiday season, St. Patrick's Day, Independence Day and Halloween.

WRAP's SoberRide provides a free cab ride home up to a $50 fare.
Callers are financially responsible for anything over $50

Why can't we get WRAP's SoberRide to operate up here where we live in Frederick County?

Why is the cut off for SoberRide in Rockville?

I mean, come on, the City of Frederick is Maryland's second largest city!

Since 1993, WRAP has provided over 41,010 safe rides home.

You must be 21 or older to use the SoberRide service.
You must be 21 or older to use the SoberRide service. Worsening Economy means Better Cab Drivers!

When the economy is going Gang Busters the pool of available cab drivers simply sucks.

There is no 'candy coating' way of putting this inescapable fact.

It's hard enough in Frederick Maryland to get good drivers to want to work the hours a 24/7/365 taxicab company works...

Imagine how hard it used to be to get competent drivers to take affluent people to BWI or other Washington area airports.

It's worse for Montgomery County Maryland's available conscientious cab drivers.
Just look at some statistics for Montgomery County Maryland employment:

    Labor Force 521,156
    Employment 507,537
    Unemployment 13,619
    Unemployment Rate 2.6%
Source: Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2007.

Now that the market is so volatile, more blue collar people will be looking for some extra security, fearing the loss of their main job perhaps.

What better part time job than to drive a cab?

The folks that are frequent business flyers are, let's face it, in the upper echelons of the salary levels possible in the US.

Business owners, entrepreneurs and high powered executives learn to live on twice a month paychecks (some even get paid ONCE a month). This is totally unheard of and completely unacceptable to the workforce that earns less than $20,000 a year.

High Rolling employers (can we say Oligarchy?) dismiss lower level employees as 'they did this to themselves', '...shoulda went to college like me'

Want a clue to fill your companies help wanted ranks?

Pay every day, at least do away with the 'two weeks till you draw a check'
and don't even start on the 'bi monthly pay' because you've got to pay the accountant half as often bit...

    Please

    Want good people?

    pay more often

Cab Drivers get paid every day...

and this is only going to help the airport transportation industry. The worse the economy gets, the more quality drivers apply.
